U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has partnered with industry to host an annual Conference in Tampa, FL for more than a decade. In 2021, USSOCOM decided to expand the event to a broader convention for the entire SOF Community, akin to an “AUSA National Meeting” for the U.S. Army or the “AFA National Convention” for the U.S. Air Force. Thus, SOF Week came to be.
SOF Week 2023 will take place May 8-11. Ball Aerospace is attending the Headquarters United States Special Operations Command Awards Ceremony & Dinner. Learn about our capabilities and programs below.

CyberA2™
Cyber Attack Alert (CyberA2™) is a software-based technology system that assesses critical cyber physical systems.
Degraded Visual Environment
Providing 3D real-time situational awareness of the landing zone to helicopter pilots during landing and takeoff under reduced visibility conditions.
Phased Array Advantages
Advanced Information Solutions
Ball produces timely, accurate and actionable information through the fusion of GEOINT data and development of open enterprise architectures.
AIRLINK®
Ball Aerospace’s AIRLINK® L-band antenna has been installed on more than 1,600 commercial and military aircraft worldwide and is one of Ball’s longest running programs. Recent additions to the AIRLINK® family include the X-1 and X-2.
Ball Software Factory
The Ball Software Factory (BSF) aims to significantly accelerate the software development process by automating common routines, tests and validations, allowing the developer to focus on the features that bring value and make the software unique to each customer or mission.
Celestial Aided Navigation
Ball Aerospace and Honeywell have developed a Celestial Aided Navigation System which provides geolocation estimates to a host navigation system by using a star tracker to make precise angular measurements between stars and Resident Space Objects (RSOs).
About Ball Aerospace
At Ball, we bring innovation, integrity, agility and performance to the most important mission – yours.
Cyber Vulnerability Testing
In partnership with our customers, Ball Aerospace developed a platform and procedures to test the cyber vulnerabilities of the modern fighter jet’s weapons and avionics systems, which heavily depend on the interplay of hardware and software.
CyberA2™
Ball is actively developing a Dynamic CyberA2™ capability, which assesses the system in real time while it is operating, providing an instant alert of any change.
DVE
Combining a Ball-built LIDAR Sensor Assembly (LSA) with Areté Associates’ groundbreaking software, the team delivered the Degraded Visual Environment (DVE), which provided 3D real-time situational awareness of the landing zone to helicopter pilots during landing and takeoff under reduced visibility conditions.
Electro-Optical/Infrared Analysis
Ball Aerospace manages, analyzes and exploits collected data using advanced Machine Learning (ML), image/video processing algorithms and data management solutions that deliver actionable geospatial-intelligence in near- to real-time.
Geiger Mode LIDAR Camera
Ball Aerospace’s Geiger Mode LIDAR Camera provides unparalleled performance in aerial coverage and point collection rates, precise time-of-flight measurement capability and single photon sensitivity for payloads limited by size, weight and power. This camera offers the ability to “see through” dense foliage and other obscurants.
