Metal food packaging has set the standard for freshness and preservation for well over a century.

For good, reason, too – metal containers maintain freshness for years and can be recycled over and over. Today the “on-the-go” market is rapidly expanding, and Ball continues to develop industry-leading innovations.

One of our more exciting inventions is the Ball Peelable End, a multi-layer film closure for our steel cans. With an integrated pull-tab, it’s easy to use and eliminates the sharp edge of an opened traditional can. They’re highly resistant to tampering, convenient, printable, and cost-effective.

We’re just as excited about the sustainability advantages of our metal packages, as we are their functionality and convenience. Our cans contain at least 25 percent recycled content and are recyclable (over and over). In fact, metal food packaging has the highest recycling rate of all food packaging – an enormous savings in terms of energy and landfill space.
