Ball Aerospace Honors 22 Employees With Excellence Awards

BOULDER, Colo., February 28, 2016 – Ball Aerospace has recognized 22 employees for outstanding contributions to the business and its customers in the areas of administration and leadership, engineering, program management, technical and strategic support, sustainability, business and customer support. The Excellence Awards are presented annually to employees who are selected by their peers.

 

“This year’s Excellence Awards winners represent the very best of the Ball Aerospace family, and I congratulate and thank each of them for their outstanding contributions and hard work,” said Rob Strain, president of Ball Aerospace. “Our continued success is made possible by our talented teams, our technologies and innovations, and our dedication to our customers.”  

 

This year’s award winners comprise the following recipients.

 

  • Administrative Awards for excellence in maintaining daily operations:

  • Engineering Awards for excellence in engineering:

  • Management Award for exemplary leadership, communications, and interpersonal skills:

  • R. David Hoover Sustainability Award for an employee who embodies safety, business excellence, quality, continuous improvement and conservation:

    Scott Werkmeister

 

  • Strategic Services Excellence Awards for work in non-engineering or technical role:

    Dale Friedholm and Hilary Payne

 

  • Technical Support Awards for excellence in turning ideas into products and meeting our commitments to our customers:

    Russ Nagata, Aislinn Struble, Tony Velasquez, Dean Vinke

 

  • Follett Award for continuous outstanding contributions in an engineering technical field. This award is named for Bill Follett, a remarkably gifted engineer from the early days of Ball Brothers Research Corporation who always demonstrated a common sense approach to programs.

  • Gabe Award for outstanding professional efforts to enhance competitiveness while producing an exemplary body of work and personifying the best of Ball. This award is named R.H. “Gabe” Gablehouse, president of Ball Aerospace from 1974-78 and 1980-85.
